Witherspoon-Jackson Community Quilt
As the Anne Reeves Artist-in-Residence at the Arts Council of Princeton, I created a large-scale community quilt honoring Princeton's historic Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood. Inspired by Gail Mitchell's landmark 2005 community quilt, this new work shifts the focus from portraiture to geography, using the neighborhood's map as a foundation for exploring memory, belonging, and place. Residents contributed fabric, stories, and hand-stitching during a series of public workshops, making the quilt a collaborative record of a community shaped by resilience, history, and change. Today, the quilt is part of the Arts Council of Princeton's ongoing efforts to preserve and celebrate the neighborhood's cultural legacy.
